SOME TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR cellar managers

What drives me on a daily basis in my profession is to look for a wine that will give a certain emotion in order to pass it on through advising my customers. For me selling a wine is part of the pleasure, I come on stage and tell its story.

I arrived in February 2020 to start the Nicolas training and I took over the management of my cellar on the 15th of April 2020 after the health restrictions.

Audrey - Cellar manager in Saint Maur Créteil

Being passionate about wine and commerce for a long time and after having worked in the restaurant industry, I decided to have professional stability. NICOLAS was obvious to me.

Human, entrepreneurial, visionary and attentive to its wine merchants, I am proud to belong to this large company soon to be bicentennial.

Benoit Rousseau, 50 years old NICOLAS wine merchant since 1999 in Joinville le pont then in Rambouillet since 2004.

I applied to Nicolas, first for the longevity of the company: 200 years is not nothing. For the family spirit, we are not treated as numbers, it is a training company where we are our own boss.
As a president said, work more to earn more, which in our case is true. Without forgetting the possibility of mobility.

Sabrina et Habib - Cellar managers in Poitiers

Being a wine merchant is above all a passion, for the products but also human contact. At Nicolas we are a wine merchant manager with a great deal of autonomy, responsibilities and a lot of requirements, which further drive our profession and complete it. Being a wine merchant for 26 year in our company, I have also had many trainees from various schools of which twelve are now colleagues (manager and headquarters), due to this, from a year and a half ago I became a school store providing field training for future managers. Our company therefore offers career opportunities by offering internal positions. As well as continuous training in all areas of our business (products, management, services, etc.).

Nicolas - Cellar manager in Troyes

I had already been a salaried wine merchant for more than 2 years at an independent retailer and I was looking for a new challenge with more responsibility and autonomy. Passion and sharing are values that I found at Nicolas. I then applied and after a month of intense and complete training, I had the keys to my first cellar! All the tools are available to manage and most importantly develop you store; training is available throughout the year in order to improve our knowledge and/or help us in the management of the cellar. I have been the manager of a Nicolas store for 2 years now, which brings me and my customers great pleasure.

Léa - Cellar manager in Lyon Victor Hugo

I joined Nicolas 12 years ago, I wanted to integrate Nicolas for several reasons, the opening of the Saint Martin des Champs project, which for me, was a great challenge and which is successful today, even if we always want to progress every year. The SEO, with its number of references and its diversity, Nicolas’ notoriety, all the support is provides to start and progress, the desire to offer my advices and services to customers and a strong desire to retain them. Working alongside individuals as a merchant and with companies, which is more of the commercial side, it is this diversity in my work that makes it very interesting and rewarding. Autonomy is also part of this choice. Today I still have as much pleasure if not more, with customers with whom, for many years, a trust has been established between us and other relationships that have become amicable.

Grégory - Cellar manager in Morlaix

30 years with Nicolas is almost a Lifetime! It is living every day your passion for French savoir-vivre around food and wine combinations, and the promotion of gourmet terroirs. It is living a story of friendship every day with our colleagues, clients and some of our suppliers. It’s about living successes, challenges, and also tougher times every day, but rarely alone. 30 years with Nicolas is a Lifetime well spent!

Aude and André - Cellar managers In Thoiry

On the March 2nd, I will celebrate my 10 years at NICOLAS, it an opportunity for me to thank the management team for having placed their trust in me. Today, at 58 years old I remain convinced that I made the right choice, essentially, I work alone and I am proud to be responsible for my cellar. As years go by, I realize that the means put in place by NICOLAS to help us in our day-to-day work are remarkable.

Michel - Cellar manager in Saint Nazaire

The possibility of mobility at Nicolas was a real opportunity for me to go down south. The challenge of taking over a store has allowed me to gain the loyalty of local customers. The other positive point was to discover this regional range which allows the discovery of new domains and to be in contact with the producers and to visit these domains.
